五柳湖位于山体公园腹地，主要通过对原有六个大小池塘进行改造贯通，修建两座拦水大坝，利用人工循环水形成跌水景观。把此美好的湖光山色命名为五柳湖，意在纪念陶渊明，陶渊明（约365—427年）号五柳先生，不仅体现了南山公园具有的人文底蕴，更是重现先生梦恋中闲适优雅的山水美景，岸边桃红柳绿、绿树成荫，湖中小桥流水、幽雅闲致，让游客有往返世外桃源之感。
Wuliu Lake is located in the hinterland of the mountain park, mainly through the transformation and connection of six existing ponds of different sizes, the construction of two water retaining dams, and the use of artificial circulating water to form a waterfall landscape. Naming this beautiful lake and mountain scenery Wuliu Lake is to commemorate Tao Yuanming, who (around 365-427 AD) was known as Mr. Wuliu. This not only reflects the cultural heritage of Nanshan Park, but also reproduces the leisurely and elegant landscape scenery that Mr. Tao dreamed of. The shore is covered with peach blossoms, willows, and green trees, while the small bridges and flowing water in the lake create a serene and leisurely atmosphere, giving visitors a sense of traveling back and forth to a paradise on earth.
